Build a Better FAQ Page: Answer the Questions Customers Ask Before Buying
By Modexa
Turn real customer questions into a useful website FAQ. Plan clear answers about your process, pricing and next steps with Modexa.

Start with the questions in your inbox
A customer has found your service page, but one unanswered question is stopping them from getting in touch. Do you work in their area? Can they bring their own materials? What happens after they request a quote? A useful FAQ begins with those real conversations. Gather questions from recent enquiries, phone calls and order support, then look for the ones that come up repeatedly. Remove personal details and write a shortlist in the language customers use.
Give each answer a clear job
Write the answer first, then add the detail needed to act on it. For a question about quotes, explain which information to send and where to send it. For a question about service areas, name the actual locations you cover. Avoid filling the page with broad statements about quality or customer satisfaction. An answer should resolve a specific uncertainty. If your process varies by project, explain what determines the next step rather than promising the same outcome to everyone.
Put important answers beside the decision
An FAQ page can collect common questions, but visitors should also find essential information where they need it. Put turnaround guidance near a project enquiry, compatibility details beside the relevant product and delivery information close to the purchase journey. Link to the full explanation when the topic needs more space. During a redesign, map each question to the page where it becomes relevant. This keeps a visitor from having to leave a useful page just to find one missing detail.
Make the page easy to scan on a phone
Group related questions under plain headings such as Getting Started, Project Changes and After Launch. Use short question titles and keep the first sentence of each answer direct. If the design uses expandable answers, ask for controls that work with a keyboard and clearly indicate when an answer is open. Test with longer questions and larger text settings. A tidy desktop mockup is only part of the job; the content should remain comfortable to read on a narrow screen.
Agree on answers before publishing
Ask the person who handles each part of the business to review the relevant answers. Confirm that pricing language matches your quotation process and that cancellation or delivery wording agrees with your actual policies. Link to those policies rather than creating a second, conflicting version. Assign someone to review the page when your services change. A short, accurate FAQ is more useful than a long page whose answers your team no longer follows.
Turn unresolved questions into the next step
End with a clear way to ask something the page does not cover. Tell visitors what information will help you respond, such as the service they need, their location and the stage of their project. Modexa can discuss FAQ structure and page design as part of a website project. Bring a few recent questions and your current website address to the conversation. We can plan where the answers belong and confirm the content and design work included in your quote.
