Before You Print: Prepare a Photo for Your Custom Phone Case
By Modexa
A practical checklist for choosing a photo, checking the camera cutout and reviewing text before ordering a personalized phone case.

Choose a photo with one clear subject
A favorite portrait, a pet or a travel memory can make a personal phone case. Begin with a photo whose main subject is easy to recognize when viewed at phone size. Try two or three candidates before settling on one. A busy group photo may feel meaningful on a large screen but become difficult to read in a narrow case design. Choose the image that still feels clear in the actual product preview.
Start with the original file
Use the original photo when you have it rather than a screenshot of a social post. Open it and check faces, edges and any small details you want to keep. Zooming in is a useful way to spot an image that already looks blurry. Uploading a larger copy of the same blurry picture does not bring back missing detail. If the designer displays a quality warning, address it before ordering.
Leave room for the camera and edges
Select your exact phone model before arranging the artwork. The camera opening and available print area can change the composition. Keep faces, names and important details away from the camera opening, corners and outer edges. Reposition the image in the preview instead of assuming it will fit exactly as it appears in your photo gallery. Check the product instructions for any model-specific design guidance.
Keep wording short and readable
A name, date or short phrase is often easier to arrange than a long quotation. Compare the text against both light and dark parts of your image and check every letter at a realistic viewing size. Avoid placing fine lettering over a highly detailed background. Read names and dates twice, then ask someone else to check them. The design preview is also a chance to remove text that makes the case feel crowded.
Use artwork you have permission to print
Choose your own photos or artwork you are allowed to reproduce on a product. An image being available online does not establish permission to print it. If you are ordering a gift, think about whether the person pictured would be comfortable with the photo being used. Keep your original design file so you can return to it if you need to adjust the layout.
Review the exact item before checkout
Confirm the phone model, case option, artwork placement and spelling together. Review the current price, delivery information and personalized-product return terms. A screen preview helps with composition, but colors can look different across screens and printed materials. This is a design-preparation checklist, not a print-quality test. Ask Modexa about any unclear option before submitting your personalized order.
